ArcMail Defender provides St. Louis Public Schools with cost-effective archiving and rapid email recovery.

With a limited IT budget and a staff of eight technicians to support the district's 10,000 plus computers and 200 servers, St. Louis Public Schools needed an archiving solution that was affordable, reliable and required minimal IT involvement.
In addition to the ArcMail Defender appliance, St. Louis Public Schools looked at archiving solutions from two well-known vendors that ranged from $300,000 to $500,000 (about 10 times the purchase price of the ArcMail Defender model selected).

"I generally believe that you get what you pay for, but this seems to be the exception to that rule, as the ArcMail solution was significantly more affordable and gave us all the functionality we need. "

Director, Information Technology
St. Louis Public School District

South Bend Community School Corporation uses ArcMail Defender to comply with the new FRCP, archiving 250,000 emails per day

Like many organizations in the public sector, the South Bend Community School Corporation made it a priority to implement a comprehensive email archiving strategy when the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) went into effect in December 2006. The FRCP require organizations that operate within the U.S. to manage their electronic data so that it can be produced in a timely and complete manner in response to discovery orders arising from civil litigation.

“Compared to the other solutions we looked at, ArcMail Defender is simple to set up and maintain. Other than checking the updates and stats, I really have no daily interaction with it. It just works!”

ArcMail Defender helps Franklin Synergy Bank build a solid infrastructure for growth.

Kevin Herrington, Franklin Synergy Bank's Chief Information Officer, made email archiving one of the company's highest IT priorities. Within one month after the bank opened in November 2007, Herrington had installed the ArcMail Defender U120. Herrington's selection of ArcMail Defender was easy, thanks to his previous experience at a larger, established public bank that had 300 employees in 16 locations, where he successfully implemented an archiving program with ArcMail Defender for 18 months.

"People get frustrated with application problems. They get impatient when the Internet goes down. But lose their email and things can get ugly fast. Knowing that the Defender has us covered is a lifesaver."

Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security Increases Disaster Preparedness Efforts by Leveraging ArcMail to Manage Critical Email

Before GOHSEP began archiving email with the ArcMail Defender appliance in February 2008, email was retained in individual user mailboxes, network backup tapes and PST files stored on CDs and DVDs. The need for an efficient archiving solution became more apparent when agency email was subpoenaed in litigation related to the hurricane Katrina disaster.

The ArcMail Defender U220 is now automatically indexing and storing all of GOHSEP's incoming, outgoing and internal email and attachments. The agency also imported email into Defender that had been stored in PST files. Travis Johns, the agency's IT Security Specialist, said that the search function in Defender's interface greatly simplifies the process of responding to discovery orders.

"I can search by keywords, dates, subject, and other parameters and find what I.m looking for in minutes instead of hours. Defender puts us light years ahead of the game."
